LUNA SPOTLIGHT!!!!!!

AFRAID TO FALL
BY:  W. FERRARO

About The Book:

Jaded and hardened by the ultimate of betrayals, Clearwater Falls Sheriff Gage Dennison is content with his simple, detached life.

With only his loyal dog at his side, Gage has successfully maintained the walls he’s built around his life and heart for eight years. From his secluded house at the end of a private road, to the solitude of a small town sheriff, he has no trouble keeping everyone just where he wants them – at a distance.

But Gage soon learns his walls are not as solid as he thought them to be.
Despite all his efforts, and against his will, Gage’s new neighbor Delaney Collins threatens to crack his once-impenetrable walls.

Unprepared for the constant verbal sparring, and growing physical attraction to Delaney, Gage is suddenly fighting an internal war he never expected. His brain and reason insist he keep his distance, but his body refuses to listen. Especially when the lure of her warm, willing body soothing his bruised and battered soul is too much to resist.

As the demons of his past are revealed, will Gage crumble under the weight of his fear? Or will he find the strength necessary to tear down his walls and hold on to the only woman that offers him a second chance at love?

LUNA SPOTLIGHT!!!

Blurb: Evan Hermes traded in romance for pragmatism when he suggested marriage at their New Year's Eve party to his girlfriend Kitt Preston. It was a “suggestion” which wasn’t well received by the love of his life. Though it’s taken him most of the year to figure out the perfect proposal, this time romance is front and center to obtain a yes!

Kitt has been in love with Evan ever since he asked her out during their first year of college. Tall, handsome, and a family man, Evan is the kind of person that most women would be falling over themselves to marry…but not her. Kitt is only willing to say yes to a marriage proposal that is worthy of their love and years together.

Excerpt:

4 days before Christmas

A second chance for Evan to propose felt about as miraculous as Santa Claus standing in the middle of his living room with an inheritance grand enough for him, Kitt, and their future children’s children to each share comfortably.

As a grown man, it was kind of silly to believe in things such as the miracle of the holidays, but even after discovering Santa’s nonexistence at the age of eight just as his mother lost her battle to cancer, he still saved some hope for Santa during the holidays.

Kitt had left the house that week to spend it helping her mother and stepfather get ready for their trip to Barbados. Evan shivered before pressing the doorbell to Kitt’s parent’s house. She had been the friend he lusted over for a greater part of first year until he confessed to her and they became a couple. He would forgive Santa for allowing people to say that he was someone who didn’t exist if the old man had his back for just this one holiday. He wanted to make it a Christmas that Kitt wouldn’t be able to forget.

Kitt opened the door with a large pink suitcase rolling behind her.

“Are you immigrating to my parent’s cottage?” he asked.

Evan smiled at her as Kitt stuck her tongue out at him. He knew her to be a person who traveled only after packing half of her closet even if it was just for a day.

“I always win your parents and brothers over with my runway model wardrobe,” Kitt teased. “And you know I have a lot of hair products.”

“I would figure,” he said.

Her thick, curly hair formed small spirals around her shoulders. It had been their first source of conversation after Kitt asked to stand under his umbrella on the first day of university classes. He had looked down at the shorter girl beside him seeing only curls, large glasses, and flawless brown skin before he decided that he had fallen for her.

He reached for her suitcase. “I’ll take that.”

“Ah…holding doors and carrying all of the heavy things…” she said. “Good boyfriend.”

She turned to lock her front door and then walked to his car. The word “boyfriend” was appearing in a grateful afterthought in her sentences. If he had done more than suggest marriage, he would be called “future husband” sweetly instead.

Up close and personal SBB author interview with:

Keshia Robertson

In five words please describe your writing style:

Realistic stories about modern women.

Top three favorite titles (books or movies):

Finding Mr. Destiny
My Sassy Girl
Bridget Jones's Diary

Do your leading characters come from any place in particular?

They come from musician and actor inspiration from all cultures. For my latest book Here's To Hound Dogs the main lead is inspired by Corinne Bailey Rae. For "Just As Good" the main character is inspired by Elle Varner so both books are influenced by the singers and their songs.

What do you do in your down time?

I go travelling in my down town between books for more research. I'd like to do some more travelling and go to Korea.

Top five snacks while writing:

I don't really snack when I'm at work but my favorite snacks are: oatmeal cookies, pizza, cakes, snack bars, and ice cream.

What's your writing process?

Plot bunny: I usually start with a single idea or concept that is layered and layered on until I am sure that I have a full story, for example a man riding his bike down a hill for me should turn into a superhero novel before I am satisfied.

Casting: I start looking on the internet for actors who look like the people I want to be in the book.

Episodes: My plotting stage is first a draw up of everything that I want to see in the book from the smallest moment to biggest conflicts. I then move those things around until I have what happens in each chapter made.

Talk to us about your book, what is your favorite part or character?

Kitt is my favorite character of the book because she is straight forward about her love for Evan. She wants a proper proposal and won't say yes until she gets one.

What is the craziest thing you have ever done?

Climbing the stairs in the CN Tower is the craziest thing I have ever done. I walked up the hundred plus flights of stairs until I was breathless and almost collapsed on the floor. The experience was amazing because I was tested on my endurance.

LUNA'S SPOTLIGHT!!!!!

Description

Please note: This isn’t your typical love story. Things are messy. Characters aren’t always what they appear to be. Wrong decisions are made. If you’re not a fan of the darker side of love, this might not be the book for you. Read at your own risk.

I’m strong—or at least, I want to be. I try to be. Oh, how I’ve tried.
But life screwed me over. When I was at my weakest and lowest, desperate and alone, he found me.
Robert changed everything. He gave me everything.
He was every woman’s dream—rich, powerful, and charming. He made me forget the fact that he’s twenty-four years my senior.
He made me feel alive, and for the first time in my life, I was content.
Until I met Cooper—his son.
And Robert? He began to change.
I’m despicable. I know I am. I’m ashamed of what I want.

Things are never what they seem.

Greed.
Lust.
Lies.
Murder.

Deception.

 Teaser

"I have no idea what you’re talking about.” I whispered as I took a step back. My back hit the wall, but he continued to step closer. He stopped right in front of me and rested his hands on the wall next to my head so that he caged me in.

“You’re a terrible liar, Claire. Even now, you want me. Your pupils are dilated and your breathing is uneven. You know what I can do and you want it. You want to be the one on my bed with my head buried between your legs.” He leaned closer so that his lips touched my ear. “All you have to do is ask. I promise you’ll be screaming when I’m done with you.”

LUNA'S SPOTLIGHT!!

THE TIN MAN

BY

Nina Mason

Excerpt

Buchanan was smoking out among the trees when he heard the gunshots. Turning toward the barn, he saw flames leaping from the roof. Dropping his cigarette, he charged from the underbrush like a bull, thinking only of Thea. Another shot shattered the darkness. He drew his Glock as he trundled across the field. The fire was spreading fast. He reached the barn, choking as he raced inside. The whole place was filled with white smoke.

“Thea!” he screamed, coughing violently. “Thea!”

He raced toward the stairs, grabbed the rail, hoisting himself up two rungs at a time. He frantically searched the loft, but found only her purse. Taking it with him, he stumbled back down.

“Thea! Thea! Where are you?”

The smoke was so thick he couldn’t see a thing. He heard another crack. Outside. Shite, the assassins had found them. But where were they now. And where was she?

He groped his way through the cloud, gasping, choking, eyes stinging, until he found the car. Feeling his way around, he located the driver’s door, got in, and started the engine. He hit the gas. The Toyota lurched forward. He couldn’t see a fucking thing through the smoke. The car crashed through wood, jolting him. The air began to clear as he bounced across the field. The black sedan came into view, speeding toward the road. He eased off the gas, falling back to avoid being seen.

Fucking hell. He’d cocked up everything. Now, they had Thea, which was killing him. Anything he could do to save her would endanger her life. Assuming, of course, she was still alive. The possibility she might not be kicked him in the chest, but he reasoned it away. She had to be alive. It only made sense. If she was dead, why take her? He felt better, but not for long. If she was alive, there was a reason. And the only reason he could think of made his stomach turn.

Blurb:

The last thing Alex Buchanan, the editor-in-chief of a formidable news site, expects as he looks around the newsroom at the bodies of his editors, is that he’ll soon be teaming up with The Ball Buster to solve the crime and stay alive. Well, maybe not the last thing. The last thing he expects is to fall for her or any other woman. Because he’s The Tin Man–a suit of armor without a heart.

Or so he believes…

The Ball Buster is his private nickname for Thea Hamilton, a smart, gutsy, and insecure investigative reporter for The New York News, America’s newspaper of record. They went out once years ago–an unmitigated disaster during which she jumped all over his case about smoking.

When events force them together, they embark on an emotion-charged, high-octane quest for the truth, ending up in bed, but also in the clutches of a sociopath corporate raider. “Zeus” is obsessed with James Bond and owns a hardcore S & M club in an old fallout shelter. Is he the killer? And, if so, what’s his motive? What he hopes to gain by torturing the journalists is clearer: the proof they’ve uncovered of a corporate takeover scheme that threatens the future of democracy. And he’ll stop at nothing to get it.

Cover Reveal/Release Day Blitz For Ciara Knight!

Title: Summer in Sweetwater County
Author: Ciara Knight
Publication: July 31, 2014

Synopsis

Rose Burton yearns to cut a strangling parental leash. After being diagnosed with diabetes, she hashes out a plan to graduate early so she can attend the University of Tennessee with the love of her life, Marcus Vega.

Marcus is a young man from the wrong side of the creek. After beating his addiction, he devotes himself to becoming a physician and earning the right to love Rose Burton. But devotion can't erase the past. When he's accused of being involved in a gang shooting, he risks everything to prove his innocence and protect the ones he loves.

Excerpt
Marcus pulled down the long, winding, tree-covered driveway to the colonial-style brick house. His 1979 Camaro sputtered and clanked to a stop on the pavers of the half-circle drive at the front of the house, making him cringe.
“Thanks for a lovely picnic.” Rose smiled, her bright-white teeth a contrast to her shiny, plump lips and strawberry-blond hair.
He slid the gearshift into park and rested his arm on the back of her seat. “The pleasure was all mine.”
She playfully smacked his shoulder then sagged into his chest, kissing him. The smell of fresh lilacs filled his senses and he slid his hand down the back of her soft dress, raking his fingers down the zipper.
With a sigh, she sat back in her seat. “I’ll miss you tonight.”
“I’ll miss you, too. Text me later.”
Rose’s eyes glistened with mischief. “I’ll let you know when I finish. Then you can sneak over and climb that trellis to my bedroom.”
Marcus tilted his head. “Yeah, that’ll go over well. Your father would not only kill me, he’d hack me to pieces and feed me to large coyotes in the middle of the woods so there wouldn't be any evidence.” He clutched the back of her neck and nudged her to him. “But he’s not home right now.”
“Actually, he is.” It wasn't her sweet whispers that provoked the terror that flashed through him. It was the meaning of her words.
He shot up and looked straight ahead. There, on the front steps, stood Mr. Burton staring down at them, arms crossed, brow furrowed.
“Guess I better go. I’m totally busted.” She winked and stole a quick kiss. “It was worth it, though.” Rose jumped out of the car and, with her head bowed, ran past her father.
He didn't spare her a glance, just marched toward Marcus.
Marcus gripped the gearshift and contemplated tearing out of there, but if there was one thing he’d never be, it was a coward. If Mr. Burton wanted to have words, he’d have them. He shoved the car door open and stood eye-to-eye with the man.
Mr. Burton’s hair had grayed around the temple, and his body had softened, but the man still commanded respect. “We need to talk.” He scanned Marcus then the car. “My daughter wasn’t supposed to be out with you today. Did you know that?”
Marcus refused to show his anger at the man’s mocking tone. “Yes, I’m aware. Rose told me.”
“Yet, you took her to God-knows-where anyway? You need to listen to me and stay away from my daughter.”
“Or what?” Marcus regretted his words, but this man always brought out the worst in him. “Are you going to have my dad fired? Oh wait, you already did that.”
“Your father’s a drunk and I can’t have a man I can’t trust running operations in one of my companies.”
Marcus shoved his hands in his front pockets to hide his clenched fists. “Maybe so, but I’m not my father and you can’t have me fired. You already tried, remember?”
“How you have so many people in this town convinced you’re not the reject addict we both know you to be, I’m not sure, but—”
“Listen, Mr. Burton. I’m not going to get into this with you. You have an opinion of me that I’ll never be able to change, but you might want to reconsider ordering your daughter around or you’ll find yourself losing her.”
“To who? You?”
Marcus didn't answer, knowing the man wouldn't listen. Instead, he opened the car door.
“You’re eighteen, right? If you touch my daughter, I’ll have you arrested for statutory rape.”
Marcus clutched the door frame. The thought of ever harming Rose boiled his blood, but the sound of that word infuriated him. “I’d never disrespect Rose. And I've done nothing to make you distrust me.”
“Oh? So help me, I’ll catch you one of these days and then have you put away. And even if I don’t, the rumors will spread and you’ll be ostracized from this town. No one wants to be around a sexual deviant. Besides, with your father—”
“Enough. You've made your point. I won’t come around your house anymore, I can promise you that.”
“Good.” Mr. Burton turned on his heel. “It’s about time you wised up.”
Marcus slid one foot onto the car mat then said, “But if she comes to me, I won’t turn her away.” With a quick slam of the door, he shoved the gearshift into drive and left the high-browed, judgmental corporate tycoon behind.
